From 2003 to 2006, the C. Difficile bacterium dominated the news in North America and caused major problems in hospitals, with infection rates that were difficult to control and hundreds of deaths. At the root of this problem is the mismanagement of excreta, the biggest contaminant and the largest challenge to the healthcare system. Hygie starts from a thorough understanding of excreta management and we offer innovative alternatives to the traditional methods of prevention and control of hospital-acquired infections. Since the C. Difficile crisis in 2006, we have offered a range of single-patient products that capture contaminants at source. In 2014, after growing success not only in Canada but internationally, we opened our own manufacturing facility in Drummondville, Québec.
Hygie is developing a “green” production approach and is investing in sustainable development.
Some numbers that tell the story:
We manage the manufacture of 90% of our products. This advantage guarantees you a constant supply, even in the event of a crisis.
We are certified ISO 13485. This standard attests to the rigour with which products are designed, developed, manufactured and distributed by Hygie through its Quality Management System (QMS). The plant has been expanded to a 10,000-square-foot facility equipped with three automated machines and a manual assembly area.
